Diploma in Advertising

Look at all those Billboards, ads on TV, in print in magazines and newspapers, on the internet? Not only the above the line ads count but also the personalized letter you get from a brand and the coupon on your birthday or anniversary or a person arriving on your door to sell called below the line advertising, this is all encompassed by advertising.

The question by most teenagers or people interested in this diploma is how do you get started? There are people who are lucky and creative who start with ad agencies straight off when they are 16 or 17. For those who want a much more lucrative career and backing, a diploma in advertising is you course.

While you know that you want to take this course, know what is taught as well. An under graduation diploma in advertising mostly last three years, the last year being your specialization with subjects targeted to the field. Most institutes in India have been offering this course for the last decade. The first year mainly teaches general topics that anyone getting a graduation should have learn for natural all round aware and also to help the person decide whether they want to pursue advertising or journalism like marketing management, political studies etc.. The choice for specialization is between the two for your final year.

The second year has a mix of topics geared at journalism and advertising both. Somewhere both topics are interlinked and so is also taught. Subjects like cultural studies, creative writing, advertising design etc are taught.

Lastly, the third year holds separate classes for advertising and journalism. Advertising studies are taught copywriting, brand management, consumer behavior etc.

Any diploma is education but the main reason students pursue diplomas is to help narrow down to a career. Many of these courses have placements in the last semester and which sets the course for your job. If not, a diploma down from a accredited college will help you get a job with any ad agency guaranteed.
